I would really like to purchase Windows 7 and install it on my laptop, and get rid of Vista! I was told not to try it, so I didn't! I have XP on my desktop and love it, but I think it's beyond my realm of knowledge to do it, I am not technically inclined ya know!?  When I first got the Vista it was a nightmare and I dumped everything on it and then didn't know what the heck to do since I was told not to try and install it on my laptop so reinstalled Vista but only one of the CDs that came with it.  So I did get rid of all the junk I didn't use, but still the same ole Vista!  I do thank you though for the offer! Cheesey Come and get a hug Guess I just need to take it in and have it done!

problem is many laptops come with a "master disk" that has the operating system AS WELL as the Drivers needed for the laptop motherboard, video card, etc etc

So technically, you need the master disk that came with the laptop if you want to do a clean operating system install

You may be able to get the video drivers and motherboard driver from the laptop manufacturer, but you will need those if you install a new operating system

So first thing is find out if you have the main disk that came with the laptop, if not, then goto the manufacturer site, and see if they have the drivers for the laptop

Then if you have those, then its a easy process to reinstall/ or format your hard drive with a new operating system

Wes, you can probably check online to see if your printer and your photo program will be compatible with Windows 7.  I use XP and my photoshop program and my printer will not work with Vista, and no doubt Windows 7 also.  One reason I'm sticking with XP as long as I can.

I do have all the CDs that came with both PCs, I'm a pack rat and never get rid of a thing! Worried  I think I will check into the W-7 and see what the cost will be for it, and if it's more than I can afford now, I'll put the XP on it!  Thanks so much! Ha Ha Gotcha! Cheesey

Thanks Kirk.  I guess it depends on how old your programs are.  Researched and found out that my photo program is not compatible with Windows 7 and my printer has limited functionality.    So, bottom line, I won't be making any changes for about 4 years (I believe) when XP is no longer supported.   Wes may have newer programs and printer, and will probably be ok.

March, 06, 2010, 12:42:25 PM
If it has a tred indicator, it has been disabled.
March, 06, 2010, 11:27:07 AM
Jo, when you remove it, it is disabled.  It won't remove it from the list.  You can add it again at anytime.  It would be better if they used the word "disable" in there but instead they use the word remove.
March, 06, 2010, 10:47:28 AM
Ron, Kevin. If I disable/remove paypal from the cart, can it be enabled again if I need to? I hate to remove it but I think that may be the only way to disable it.
